Aspasios: an 11-apartment building installed in under an hour

Aspasios did not know when a guest had left until someone went to check. Now departures show up the moment they happen, and the information flows into Mews on its own.

This is the shortest case of the lot, which is exactly why it is useful.

Aspasios operates apartments in Barcelona. In one of its buildings, with 11 apartments, it had the problem every operator without a permanent reception has: not knowing when a guest has actually gone.

Without that, the departure is discovered late. Someone drops by, knocks just in case, and only then does the work start. The apartment may have been free for hours.

The installation

The entire building, in under an hour.

That is not a rounded-off marketing number: eleven apartments, one team, and under sixty minutes to a working system. No building work, no cabling and no apartment taken out of service.

It is worth saying why it can go that fast. The button runs on LoRaWAN, a low-power network with a range of hundreds of metres, so it does not depend on each apartment's WiFi and nothing has to be configured inside the unit. You place the button, put a gateway in for the building, and that is it.

What changed

They now have visibility of departures. When a guest leaves and presses, the operator knows there and then, not when someone gets round to checking.

And that information does not sit in a separate screen: it integrates with Mews, the PMS they were already using. The apartment status travels through the channel the team already works in, without opening another tool or re-entering the data by hand.

Why this case matters

Because it sets the floor on effort. The conversation about automating a building usually starts with the suspicion that it will be a project: budget, works, weeks, units blocked.

Eleven apartments, under an hour, and the building came out of that morning knowing when each guest leaves.
